“It’s the most wonderful time of the year! With kids jingle belling and everyone telling you, “Be of good cheer …” (Can’t you just hear Andy Williams singing it now?) And to help us celebrate the spirit of the season, we thought we’d share Dr. Davis’s exclusive interview with the one-and-only Jolly Ol’ St. Nick!

Thank you, Santa, for stopping by Davis Dental for this special interview. It’s such a busy time of year for you! Let’s dive right into things so you can get back to your very important Christmas schedule. Shall we?
Ho! Ho! Ho! Why, of course! Santa’s elves know what to do and how to take care of everything while I’m away. They’re really quite resourceful.
First, what is your official job title?
I am the Chief Christmas Officer of Santa’s Workshop in the North Pole.
What do you do as the CCO of Santa’s Workshop?
For most of the year, January through November, I do nothing. But here’s a list of what I do when December the 1st rolls around each year.
- Make a list and check it twice to find out who’s naughty or nice
- Oversee the elves who manufacture and test the safety of all the toys for good little girls and boys
- Deliver gifts with the help of our nine celebrity reindeer: Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. And the most famous reindeer of all, Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Santa, we all know how much you enjoy Christmas cookies, hot cocoa, and peppermint sticks. What are your recommendations to girls and boys in caring for their teeth?
Ho! Ho! Ho! Dr. Davis, I recommend girls and boys, young and old, follow their dentists’ advice for the best care of their teeth.
You know, I’ve done some research myself and discovered that eating three-dozen candy canes each day in December has some health benefits. What do you have to say to that, Dr. Davis?
Actually, Santa. That’s in no way true at all. Our office recommends eating low-sugar, sugarless, and tooth-friendly treats in addition to proper oral hygiene practices every day.
Is there anything you can do for a child who asks for their two front teeth for Christmas, Santa?
Ho! Ho! Ho! Little ones who lose their two front teeth because they are growing up, don’t seem to understand that they already have their two front teeth. They just need to be patient and watch for them to appear on their own.
And most teeth are knocked out during the eleven months of the year when I am not working. That’s where you come in, Dr. Davis. Tell us what kiddos should do if and when a tooth or two gets knocked out, and I cannot help them.
I’m happy to do that, Santa!. Here are four important steps to abide by if and when a tooth gets knocked out:
1) Don’t touch the root of the tooth
2) Rinse it off with MILK, if it’s dirty
3) Put it in MILK to keep it moist
4) Get to Davis Dental ASAP!
Santa, you probably already know this. But according to Glamour Beauty, forty-four percent of the people surveyed would rather have perfect teeth than perfect eyesight or hair.
Ho! Ho! Ho! I did know that, Dr. Davis, because most of the “big” kids list teeth whitening as a gift on their Christmas list. Do you offer teeth whitening services in your office?
We sure do. You can get the bright, white smile you’ve always wanted. Teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic dental procedures. And our in-office solutions create immediate results.
Now, Santa, it’s time to bring this holiday interview to a close and let you get back to work. So, first, I’d like to thank you for visiting with us today. You truly have a giving heart. And before you leave to go back to the North Pole, how can we get in touch with you?
Ho! Ho! Ho! You can call my phone number. It’s 951-262-3062. It goes straight to voicemail, though, because this is a super-busy time of year for me.
My helpers in Anchorage, Alaska take care of all letters written to me providing those letters are mailed to the address below by December 7th. Since December 7th is already past, kids, just hand those letters to me over to your mom and dad. They’ll make sure I find out what’s on your Christmas list.
But here’s my address for the next Christmas season:
